Introduction to Piano

Ages 6-8
30 minutes weekly

Winter: January 9 - February 20



Thursdays at 5:30 pm (with Mr. Matt)



These sequential classes are a great way for the curious beginner to be introduced to the basics of playing the piano.

Through games and keyboard lab instruction, students will learn basic music theory, piano technique, and music history.  The small group setting of these classes provides an excellent transition to one-on-one piano instruction by providing the children with the necessary building blocks needed for playing the piano.

Ages 4 - 5

Wunderkeys Piano for Preschoolers encourages exploration of the piano in ways that are accessible and appropriate for children ages 4-5.  Each class is designed to aid young children in understanding everything they will need to know before learning to read notated music.  Through games, songs, and keyboard activities, students will learn and practice the skills that will lead them to successfully playing the piano independently.  Parent/guardian participation required.

Music Makers: Piano Primer

Ages 5 - 6
Winter: January 9 - February 20

30 minutes weekly

Thursdays at 5:00 pm (with Mr. Matt)



This class cultivates the child's musical development through songs, tonal and rhythm patterns, poetry and stories, movement activities, listening games, instrumental play, manipulative games, and piano lab instruction. Basic music skills such as pitch matching, beat competency, ensemble development, and music notation are dealt with using themes taken from the child's home environment and natural surroundings. Students will also be introduced to basic piano skills throughout the course of the semester.
