Introduction to Piano

Ages 6 - 8

These sequential classes are a great way for the curious beginner to be introduced to the basics of playing the piano.

Through games and keyboard lab instruction, students will learn basic music theory, piano technique, and music history.  The small group setting of these classes provides an excellent transition to one-on-one piano instruction by providing the children with the necessary building blocks needed for playing the piano.

Nature's Music

Ages 0 - 5

This class offers a wonderful collection of songs and dances for young children which focuses on the rhythm and music of nature.  Come explore the Crawlers and Creepers, Jumpers and Hoppers, Buzzers and Singers, Swimmers and Leapers, and the Music Makers this summer!  Great fun for the whole family!

My Musical World

Ages 0 - 3.5

This class offers adults the opportunity to play with their babies and toddlers in a musical setting, experiencing music and movement activities designed to delight the child and awaken his or her curiosity about music. By singing, dancing, bouncing, rocking, and playing instruments, the child's music aptitude is being carefully nurtured, laying the foundation for beat awareness, vocal production, and aural discrimination.

Music Makers: Piano Primer

Ages 5 - 6

This class cultivates the child's musical development through songs, tonal and rhythm patterns, poetry and stories, movement activities, listening games, instrumental play, manipulative games, and piano lab instruction. Basic music skills such as pitch matching, beat competency, ensemble development, and music notation are dealt with using themes taken from the child's home environment and natural surroundings. Students will also be introduced to basic piano skills throughout the course of the classes.

It’s never too late to start!  These classes are a fantastic option for adults who want to start playing the piano again, or for those who always wish they had.

Ages 10+

This course will cover the very basics and is designed for learners of any school age. We will cover how to tune the guitar, the notes of the open strings, left and right hand techniques, how to build strength, an introduction to note reading using both the staff and tablature, basic scales and basic chords.

All you need to bring is a guitar, an empty notebook, and a fun, supportive attitude. This course will prepare the student for a lifetime of learning. 

Don't own a guitar?  No problem!  We have guitars available for rental and for purchase!

Summer Classes

Our Musikgarten classes, which are designed for children (ages 0 - 5) and adults to enjoy together, aim to nurture the child's social, emotional, physical, and mental development through the fun of music and movement.  Classes are available on select Saturdays in June and July, and on weekday mornings and evenings in August (schedule coming soon!).

Families may register for single classes, or for a series in June and July.  Returning families and families registering more than one child will receive a discount.  Registration for each class closes 2 days prior to the class.

Family Drum Circle

Ages 5 - Adult

Make family memories through drumming!  These classes will lead your family through the world of hand percussion. Families of all ages and sizes are welcome to participate with no special equipment necessary to bring, and no experience necessary.  

Mondays from 6:15 - 7:00 pm:

Preschool Music Discovery

Ages 3 - 5

Together with a grown up, the children will sing and dance, play games and instruments, listen to stories, make crafts, and perform musical science experiments!  Families can register for single sessions, or for a series.  Each class will feature a different theme.  Come discover the magic of music with us!
